Lorna Palmer was born in Jamaica but brought up and educated in London where she began piano and singing lessons at an early age. Upon leaving school she gained a place as a full-time student at the world renowned Royal College of Music, London, where she studied voice with Marion Studholme and Ruth Packer, and piano with John Barstow in the late 1970's.
This was followed by a Post-Graduate Certificate in Education in Birmingham. Since then Lorna has worked as a specialist music teacher and choral director in London, Belfast and Dublin. She has given concerts and recitals and has sung soprano solo in cantatas and oratorios.
Lorna has many years experience tutoring individual pupils in singing, piano and music theory to take music boards examinations from Grade 1 to Diploma level. A number of these pupils have gone on to pursue professional careers in music teaching and performance.
Lorna is also a qualified school teacher and has taught music (at both primary and secondary level) in England, N. Ireland and in the Republic of Ireland, including Methodist College (Belfast) and Wesley College (Dublin). She has taught music at all levels from KS1-KS5, including GCSE and A-level.
